"Earn all you can, save all you can, give all you can." John Wesley
Capitalism reflects the Biblical pattern of personal responsibility and reward. Ministering to the poor and loving your neighbor reflect the Biblical pattern of concern for inequalities. While these are defining principles of extremely polarized social and political views, they are found in unity in the Bible.
I just finished a sociology course which I thoroughly enjoyed. After much reflection I believe that Wesley's statement is balanced Biblically and also very applicable to life. May we continue to search to realize the patterns that God communicates to us in His Word.

found your page when checking on Google to see if I had the quote right, before preaching in a church of John Wesley's movement. Gave this therefore some thought, seems the only part open to some debate is middle one. How much do you save before also giving, and when does your saving become your security. Wesley, himself, seemed to save little and gave away almost all that he had.
