The movement towards a society when people are 'always online' is making significant progress. NeilsenWire reports that usage of smartphones continue to grow in comparison to standard feature-based phones.
The good news for providers is that consumer satisfaction is higher with the more expensive devices. Subscribers also tend to stay with their provider, rather than being lured away by a good deal on a new phone.
With the rate of smartphone usage on the rise, I wonder how long it will be before monthly internet costs for phone and household internet are combined and minimized. Right now it's expensive to have both, but probably not for too much longer!
